Did you know that March 20th is the International Day of Happiness? Do you also know what happiness is and where it comes from? When are you truly happy, how do you achieve it so that you can feel the endorphins for hours? Unfortunately, I don't know the exact recipe for happiness, but I am sure that if there was a measure of happiness, its level would be above the upper limit after every workout.
Get moving and release endorphins!
What is endorphin?
When someone enters a euphoric state, it is due, among other things, to the effect of endorphins, which is why they are commonly called the happiness hormone. To get into this state, we do not need and should not resort to any narcotics, there is a very simple solution - exercise regularly. The morphine-like substance is produced in the pituitary gland, in cases of fear, excitement and during strong activity. I know that nowadays you are confronted with the fact in magazines, on giant posters and on many other news portals that you can improve your physical and mental well-being with exercise. BUT this is really true and exercise is your only weapon against most diseases.
Long-term effects of endorphins.
Do you also want to achieve calmness, harmony and high pain tolerance every day? You will have to be persistent in the beginning, as these feelings can only be achieved through regular and persistent training. It is likely that a person who has been exercising for a long time has a much lower anxiety level than the average person.
Can everyone always feel the flow feeling?
The feeling of flow itself can only be created if the following are present:
â clearly defined objectives;
â the unification of consciousness and activity;
â handling situations appropriately;
â focusing on the task at hand.
Not everyone experiences that certain Flow feeling, the main reason for which is the lack of concentration. Nowadays, it is a miracle if we can only focus on one task, the abundance of information and tasks overwhelms our minds. I recommend that in any case, set a goal for yourself that you want to achieve during sports activities. Consider whether you have several smaller goals, or one big one is more motivating. It does not help the Flow experience if you set the bar too low or too high. Find the golden mean.
Autogenic exercises help with concentration and many athletes still train their attention this way. Personally, practicing YIN yoga helped me keep my thoughts âin checkâ, the yoga instructor told me at the beginning of the practice not to be scared if we had emotional outbursts on the way home. The first time, it was terribly difficult to concentrate, my thoughts were constantly zigzagging left and right. The second time, they quieted down and I could increasingly âhearâ the silence (it sounds strange that I can hear the silence). The third time, not on the way home, but in the middle of the practice, I felt something I had never felt before, such a trio of fire, anger and pain arose in my chest that I thought I would burst out and that was the end of it all. Needless to say, I became addicted to this class, over time I learned to calm myself down and concentrate on the silence. This was my goal, to hear and feel the silence, and with this attention I can continue on my path.
What is your goal?
"Do you want to get fit?"
â Can you fit into clothes you haven't worn in a while?
â Do you want to live the one life you have been given, healthy and happy?
"Do you want to understand, love and be loved?"
Whatever your goal, you are the one who can do the most to make your goals come true. It's never too late to start exercising, start with a short walk and work your way up, the sky is the limit.
